Are you interested in a career working with companion animals? Elise is committed to helping motivated students moving in the right direction towards becoming a successful trainer or consultant and has designed a rigorous internship program. The internship has the workload and expectations of a typical college level course. Due to limited scheduling availability, Elise can only accept interns for three month rotations.
If you are currently enrolled in an accredited university and are hoping to get course credit, please contact Elise about the process of setting up an independent study.
To start the process, you will need to submit an Application. Select applicants will be contacted for a phone interview.
Successful applicants are:
- reliable
- motivated
- driven
- able to commit 5-10 hours a week to observation, hands-on practice, and assisting in class
- able to commit additional time for reading and completing on-line assignments
- able to drive with a reliable source of transportation
- able to access the internet
The initial internship has two payment options. Option A is to pay in full at the commencement of the internship, $600. Option B is to pay at the start of each month, $250/month for three months.
Elise is available for on-going mentoring to graduated interns, CPDT-KA’s, Certified IAABC members, and CCBC-KA’s at her regular rate of $80/hour. Need to discuss a case you’re working on? Reserve your phone appointment now!
Elise was always generous aboutpraising Ronin and I when we were doing well. At the same time, she was there to guide us and push us to the next level so that we were fully prepared when we took the CGC test and passed! Thank you Elise, we could not have done it without you! I would recommend Elise Gouge's classes to anyone with a dog who wants to feel good about learning.
